Part 3 Gazillion
Have ya heared this?? [gawww-lleeeee]
On ABC’s “This Week” program Sunday, host George Stephanopoulos picked up a chestnut that’s been bouncing around Washington for three months and tossed it in National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice’s lap. Why, he asked, did the United States pass up chances to kill terrorist Abu Musab Zarqawi in 2002 and 2003? “We never had a chance to get Zarqawi,” Rice replied. That exchange tells a lot about this year’s presidential politics.
Why would Stephanopolous bring up another network’s March broadcast of an obscure story never reported elsewhere? It has been spread by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton to imply President Bush held back the attack in order to gain support for invading Iraq.Unless Rice’s flat disavowal stops it, this threatens to become an urban legend used against Bush in the next 17 weeks.
I am donning my orange safety vest and headlamp and hoping *I* can follow me on the path of this twissssssted logic.
# – Bush lied about the reasons to Invade Iraq. Therefore he is evil incarnate andought to lose.
# – Abu Musab Zarqawi, numbah two man in alQ, was in Iraq in 2002.
# – Abu Musab Zarqawi was at a terrorist training camp, in Iraq, in 2002.
# – Abu Musab Zarqawi was at a terrorist training camp, where it was likely there was a bioweapons lab, in Iraq, in 2002.
# – Bush knew, in 2002, that Abu Musab Zarqawi was at a terrorist training camp, where it was likely there was a bioweapons lab, in Iraq, in 2002.
# – Bush withheld permission to send Zarqawi to Paradise in 2002 because he Zarqawi and he are pals.
# – Bush withheld permission in 2002 to send Zarqawi from the terrorist training camp, [where it was likely there was a bioweapons lab,] in Iraq, to Paradisebecause it would weaken his case for invading Iraq.[why, that crafty bastard!]
# – Killing an alQ terrorist, in 2002, in a terrorist training camp, in Iraq would demonstrate unequivocally that Bush was lying when he said that there were terrorists getting ready to do important terrorist stuff in Iraq in 2002 and we oughta do something about it.
[or, as reported by media: the terrorist leader's "mere presence" in Iraq "was used to justify Mr. Bush's invasion of Iraq." [and] thanks to Bush’s emphasis on making “a case for invading Iraq,” Zarqawi was permitted “to live and to kill and to kill and to kill.” ]
Holy crap on a cracker — talk about dumbing down!
